| GULP Bait or Lure? |

Interesting product, and having tried the stuff I would say given more effort it would probably work for me, BUT! Being a lure fishermen I find it a little hard to call it anything but an artificial bait. A few years ago several were tried and generally looked at with disdain. It's really interesting to see what a bit of marketing and a new 'younger generation' of fisho's can do. Gulp seems to be highly regarded by a lot of fisho's and why not. It's just not for me. Maybe the timing of the product was a little better this time, you know with the great interest and great results of soft plastics. The company itself makes it fairly clear it is marketed as an artificial bait, but is often referred to as a 'soft plastic' by a lot of fishers. This is where I have a problem with it or them. Now this is just my opinion and I am entitled to it, just as anyone has the right out there to answer, and give their opinion. Company Description of GULP.
No one attractant truly applies equally well to all fish. That's why Berkley® Gulp! Saltwater was created. Gulp! Saltwater is made of 100% biodegradable, natural ingredients that release 400 times more scent than plastic baits. Its scent trail attracts fish and triggers them to feed, outfishing live bait in head-to-head field tests. Gulp! Saltwater is the first bait to bridge the gap between artificial and live bait. No comparison to lures, only live bait. So why do we call it a soft plastic when it clearly isn't. So fisho's, I am not so sure you are fishing with a soft plastic, but you are fishing with an artificial bait. Here is another description of Gulp Saltwater. Berkley® Gulp!® Saltwater baits are made from natural ingredients that release 400 times more scent than plastic baits. Formulated especially for ocean gamefish, Berkley Gulp! Saltwater is so potent it can actually OUTFISH live bait. Plus it’s 100 percent biodegradable for a cleaner environment. Stock up on a full selection of Gulp! Saltwater baits and you’ll experience more action than ever! They all look, smell, and move just like the real thing. Now if we are talking
Absolutely no doubt, this is a soft plastic. I won't argue with the facts.
