Who's Yella? Callop Classic

 Who's Yella? Callop Classic

I have an up and coming Tournament scheduled for the 19th and 20th September 2009 at Cobdogla which is a small town located on the Murray River within the heart of the Riverland S.A. This event is a catch and release event revolving around the capture of Golden Perch and is a shared weight event. That is a team of two people go out and catch a limit of 5 Golden's, return at the end of the day and the heaviest bag of fish wins.

The fish may only be caught on lures or fly and there is no trolling, so only casting. We've a large number of sponsors for the event with great product prizes to be won! Entry fee is $100.00 per team with 50% of entry fee money going back into a pool which generates cash prizes. There is a briefing for the tournament competitors that takes place on the 18th of September 2009 at 8.30 pm at the Cobdogla Community Club, this venue provides not only bar facilities, but also serves excellent meals. The reason why I've chosen this venue for the briefing is so teams that travel long distances may eat and refresh themselves in an social atmosphere while also making new friends and aquaintances with other competitors.

The Tournament itself is named "The Who's Yella? Callop Classic". Next year the competition goes National throughout Qld, NSW, VIC and SA. All rules are under the ABT format and so boats must also conform to the standards that are in place which is a minimum of 3.7m in length, a minimum horsepower rating of 20hp and a livewell that must be insulated with a fitted lid that can hold at least 60litres of water that is aerated. Fish that do not swim away after weigh in time will lead to the offending team being disqualified.
