Wakool River PDF Print E-mail

Well it all started here, l decided to go and have a luring session, and after a couple of hours changing lures without a hit l decided to put a couple of bait rods in straight away l got this yella on worms, also catching a couple of silver perch on worms.

Wakool River

By this time, l'd caught some shrimp, l put some shrimp on and caught a cod (54cm) straight away. After the cod was released the little silver perch moved in so l decided to head further up the river. This worked out to be a good move with a 62cm cod within five minutes As night time loomed in, l caught a little yella on worms, then my rod got smashed with the shrimp on it, and in came a big fat yella 48cm.

Then l had a hit on worms just as l was starting to pack up, and another yella. All in all, it was a great fishing session out on the Wakool River, l certainly started wondering if l should of just bait fished instead of luring for two hours first. All up l caught two cod, four yella's andabout twenty silver perch.
